is to obtain a wine which is the expression of the vineyard it comes from, of
the grapes it was made of, and above all of our own ideas.

2011 HARVEST
The year 2011 was certainly a peculiar one from the climatic point of view.
The first remarkable fact was the unusual hot weather in the first half of April, which fostered a rather early and homogeneous budding after a normal winter and a wet spring.
As a consequence, we also had a very early blossoming as a result of a soil rich of water combined with favorable climatic conditions. The course was optimal and the whole process was over in about 10 days.
The effects of this anticipated phenomenon, confirmed by the setting, lessened gradually due to a not so hot summer characterized by very cool nights and temperatures below average. This climate went on until mid-August thus affecting darkening, which evolved less differently according to varieties in comparison with average situations and therefore with remarkable uniformity.
After that, the climate changed again: there was a very strong heat wave which affected the ripening of the early grapes, anticipating it to 2 / 3 weeks, while some early September refreshing rains brought the second ,third period grapes process back to normal.
The wines
Also the harvesting was peculiar. Normal, sunny weather conditions in the crucial last two August weeks and on favored all our strategic decisions connected with harvesting.
Our white wines are full and balanced with a unique, fresh pleasantness which enhances their fruity features.
Our young red wines are endowed with an exceptional roundness which makes them easy to be appreciated since now as they are invitingly pleasant.
The Barbera results are extremely good. This wine is in fact endowed with rare concentration and vinous characteristics difficult to obtain again, while Nebbiolo based wines are fabulous with a rare intense color for this variety. Elegance and typical finesse emerge in these balanced ,but also powerful wines.
